The Portuguese Football Federation's (FPF) Council of Justice has responded to FC Porto's appeal against the suspension of players Hulk and Sapunaru, handed down by the Liga's Disciplinary Committee, by reducing their punishment. The players were suspended for four and six months, respectively, for assaulting stewards in the tunnel after the Benfica v Porto league game on 20 December of last year (14th jornada). The suspension has been altered to three and four games, respectively. Hulk has played only a couple of Champions League games since December, while Sapunaru was loaned to Rapid Bucharest in the transfer window. Porto are now expected to claim compensation from the Liga for the damage caused by the suspensions.

Sporting Braga, who had appealed against the suspension of three months of captain Vandinho following incidents at the mouth of the tunnel in the Braga v Benfica game earlier in the season, had their appeal rejected.

Liga President Hermínio Loureiro has resigned in the wake of the decision by the FPF.
