Benfica have signed Spanish goalkeeper Roberto (Jimenez Gago), 24, from Atlético Madrid on a five-year contract for a fee of 8.5 million euros. Roberto played for Spanish side Zaragoza last season. He is Benfica's fourth reinforcement after the Portuguese defender Fábio Faria and the Argentinians Franco Jara and Nicolas Gaitan.

Sporting Braga receive Brazilian midfielder Olberdam on loan from Marítimo until the end of the season. Braga have loaned the midfielders Stélvio (Angolan international) and Kalaba (Zambian) to 1.º de Agosto (Angola) and Zamalek (Egipto), respectively, both until the end of the season. Both players represented their countries at the recent African Nations Cup.

Ghanaian left back David Addy, 19, has signed for FC Porto from Danish club Randers on a three and a half year contract.

Vitória de Guimarães' central defender Sereno has terminated his contract with the club and joined Valladolid until the end of the season.

União de Leiria have signed Brazilian midfielder Rafael Bitencourt, 22, from Joinville on a two and a half year contract.

Académica have signed Bulgarian striker Bibishkov from Steaua Bucharest; he previously represented Marítimo and Penafiel. Académica have loaned Bischoff to Desportivo das Aves and Licá to Trofense.

Rio Ave striker João Tomás has left the club to join Al-Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates, coached by Manuel Cajuda.

Marítimo have signed Algerian international striker Abdelmalek Cherrad, 29, who recently terminated his contract with French second divsion club Arles-Avignon. The contract is for a season and a half.

The deal to bring Brazilian striker Kléber to FC Porto from Cruzeiro has fallen through after terms could not be agreed.

Porto's Romanian left back Cristian Sapunaru will be loaned to Rapid Bucharest until the end of the season. Sapunaru is suspended in Portugal after incidents in the tunnel of the Luz stadium after the Benfica v Porto clássico in December.

Brazilian forward Keirrison, on loan from Barcelona to Benfica for the first half of the season, has now been loaned to Fiorentina.

Benfica have signed Argentinian striker Franco Daniel Jara from Arsenal de Sarandi for 5.5 million euros. The contract is for five seasons.

Fajardo and Miguelito have been loaned to Belenenses until the end of the season by Panthrakikos and Marítimo, respectively, with Diakité moving on loan to Marítimo. Blenenses have terminated the contract of midfielder Ivan Santos.

Naval are set to sign Brazilian midfielder Giuliano Amaral, 29, from Campinense of Brazilian Series B. He will join Naval's other signings Adriano, Bellashssan and Fábio Júnior.

Paços de Ferrreira's captain Pedrinha has signed for Bulgarian club Chernomoretz on a three and a half year contract. He leaves Paços after nine years.

Sporting have loaned left back André Marques to Greek club Iraklis until the end of the season.

Rio Ave have secured the loans of Bruno Moraes from FC Porto and Nélson oliveira from Benfica, both until the end of the season.

Belenenses have signed Argentian central defender Daniel Mustafa, 25, from Spanish club Huesca.

Midfielder André Leão, 24, a free agent after rescinding his contract with Romanian club Cluj, has signed for Paços de Ferreira until 2012.

Sporting Braga have extended Portuguese international goalkeeper Eduardo's contract until the end of the 2012/13 season.

Colombian striker Wason Renteria is to return to Sporting Braga on loan from FC Porto until the end of the season. He was at Braga last season but spent the first half of this at Atlético Mineiro, both spells on loan.

Recent moves on the transfer market:

Sporting Braga have signed right back Miguel Garcia from Olhanense for 50 thousand euros, while Braga will loan striker Yazalde to the Algarve club. Braga have also signed Brazilian midfielder Rafael Bastos on a one-and-a-half-year contract. In Portugal, Bastos has previously represented Belenenses and Nacional. the club have also secured the services of USA U-20 international Gale Agbossoumonde, 18. The central defender will initially represent Braga's junior team.

Benfica have loaned US international forward Freddy Adu, 20, to Aris Salonika until 2011. The club has sold left back Laszlo Sepsi, loaned last season to Racing Santander, is to return to Romania to play for Poli Timisoara on a contract lasting five and a half years, the fee a reported 2.3 million euros. another left back on Benfica's books, loaned last season to Cruzeiro, is to move to Avaí. Meanwhile, Benfica winger Urreta is set to be loaned to Uruguayan club Peñarol. Central defender Edcarlos, until now loaned to Fluminense, will kove to Mexican club Cruz Azul, also on loan.

FC Porto have loaned left back Benitez to Argentinian club San Lorenzo until the end of 2010.

Sporting have loaned Ghanain forward William Owusu to Gil Vicente and Wilson Eduardo to Portimonense; both players represented Real Massamã in the first part of the season.

Nacional have signed creative midfielder Thiago Gentil, 29, from Coritiba on a two-and-a-half-year contract. Gentil is needed to take over from Rúben Micael, almost certainly on his way out. He joins central defender Alex Bruno, 27, from Atlético Mineiro.

Marítimo want to borrow Portuguese international striker Edinho from Málaga; a sticking point is the player's large salary. The Madeiran club have signed midfielder Rafael Miranda, 25, on loan from Atlético Mineiro.

Naval have signed Brazilian central defender Adriano, 20, from Santa Cruz; the contract is until 2014. The club has loaned French midfielder Nkake to Sporting Covilhã of the second tier.

Vitória de Guimarães have loaned Brazilian right-back Lionn to Olhanense.

Brazilian midfielder Wénio, 30, has terminated his contract with Leixões and is heading for the Middle East. The northern club have signed Brazilian striker Didi on loan from Romanian club Cluj; Didi previously played under Leixões coach José Mota at Paços de Ferreira.

Vitória de Setúbal have signed striker Henrique, 22, from Corinthians. The contract is for four and a half years. Henrique was understudy to Ronaldo at the Brazilian club. He joins defenders Ricardo Silva and Ney and midfielder Neca, all presented this week.
